| The
Grenadines are enchanted; idyllic little islands scattered down
the Eastern Caribbean from St. Vincent in the north to Grenada in
the south. Each is very individual in style and appeal although
all are unspoilt with irresistible white sand beaches, warm clear
seas and a remoteness from the pressures of life. Bequia is unpretentious
but beautiful, retaining its traditions of boat building and fishing
and a firm favourite among the yachting fraternity. Petit St. Vincent
and Palm Island are the ultimate retreats - private islands offering
an escape to a barefoot paradise. Mustique is inherently glamorous
and sophisticated; its popularity with royalty and the jet set has
endowed the island with an internationally prestigious reputation.
Canouan is a secluded hideaway with an exclusive island development
scheme, including an 18-hole golf course, now almost completed;
and then there is Young Island, a lush green enclave with its own
rustic charm just a stoneÕs throw from St. Vincent. |
